What Lestro doesn’t have

Sometimes the best feature is the one we decided not to build.

  • Sign-up, email or phone number
  • Servers of our own
  • Analytics and trackers
  • Hidden fees
  • A “support team” that asks for your recovery phrase

Under the hood

For people who’d rather verify than take our word for it.

Lestro never asks for your recovery phrase. Not by email, not in chat, not on behalf of “support”. Anyone who asks is a scammer.

Questions

What if I lose my Mac?

Install Lestro on another Mac and restore your wallet with the recovery phrase. That’s why it’s worth writing it down on paper and keeping it away from your computer.

Can Lestro freeze my money?

No. We don’t have your keys, and transfers don’t go through any servers of ours. Your funds live on the blockchain, and only you can move them.

Why a password for every transfer?

So that nobody who sits down at your Mac can send your money. The password unlocks the key only for the moment of signing.

What are the fees?

Right now, only the network fee. Lestro shows it before you send.

How do I know I downloaded the real Lestro?

Download only from lestro.app. Next to the file you’ll find a SHA-256 checksum and instructions for checking Apple’s signature.

Will there be a Windows version?

Yes, it’s next.
